Hello boys and girls, my name is Stefan, 25yo atm, and owner of a turbocharged '95 Honda Civic coupe LSI.
I'll introduce my car to the model/brand specific forums later.
Over here, I participate in the biggest and/or most knowledgable forums, and some other US/UK English forums, and I'm never to shy to share what I know, or ask for what I don't yet know.

For now, I just wanted to say hi

Hey and Welcome to TC, think your the first Dutch person on here.

Im liking the idea of the supercharged Civic, is it a VTEC aswell?

so what are you thinking of doing to the civic, or just keeping it with the charger till you get a new car?

Hi Stefan and a warm welcome to TorqueCars. I think we do have others from Holland on here so you are in good company.

Your car sounds amazing - did you do the turbo conversion yourself? It would be great if you could post up some pics and bit of a write up when you get to the 10 posts.

(Sorry for my delay in finding your post - I've got a man cold :()

Jup, it's VTEC, B-series, not D.
And it's not supercharged, but turbocharged ;)
I've editted the first post to include the speclist, I'll post pics later (I'm a reader, not a spammer, so it could take a while before I'm able to post pics).

Then do it :D
A friend of mine has a semi build B18C6 in his DC2, putting out over 400whp.
I'm in the process of gathering parts for exactly the same build, but with a B18C4, I like their combustion chambers and bigger walls etc. better for boost.

It'll be Eagle rods, CP pistons, ACL bearings, ARP hardware, Supertech valvetrain, and looking into Endyn studs.
And then go look for a S9B lsd tranny, and I've got some plans including PU bushings, traction bar, rollbars, etc.

And I also want to have it repainted, it'll be over a year before I'm done, so a lot of time to enjoy it :)

Yesterday evening at 1840h, some guy in a Ford Focus decided to cut me off because he was in the wrong lane.
Wouldn't have been a problem if I wasn't already half way his vehicle, so now my fender, bumper and corner need to be replaced... and my wheel has a small chip of the 'paint' (they're anodised, not painted... great) but hardly noticable.

Great.

Oh bad luck there stefan. Hope you get it sorted. Did you get the drivers details? Will you go through your insurance?

We filled in a form for the insurance companies, and yeah, I want my damage compensated.
With a little luck, I can have my car restored and repainted, for just a few hundred of my own euro's :)
Too bad I'm not having 10 posts yet, otherwise I could post some pics.

You are half way there!;)

Can you claim for "loss of use of your car" or a hire car? Were you injured? Bruised knee, minor whiplash?

Nah, we were driving up to a red light, so prob. not even doing 20-25kph, no injuries or stiffened muscles, nothing.
I've seen my share of accidents as a passenger (driving of the highway @ 170kph in a Citroën Xantia, and driving into a tree @ 110kph in an ED7 Civic, both times not injured at all), though this car was beat up several times; last year a guy in a rental van backed up at a macdrive, plowing his stainless steel rear bar into my front bumper, this spring I've hit a big goose @ 80kph, and now this.

There have been a lot of failed kills on the performance side, so now that's proven strong, my exterior is going to take a three-year beating... I guess haha :p

Tomorrow I'm going to stop by an expert, to have the damage assessed for the insurance company.
It's then up to me to decide what to do... I've got two options;
- coupe overhaul; weld in new rear quarter panels, get all little dents and so out, and have it repainted
- option on a completely stripped EK4; get all little dents out, have it repainted, and install the coupe's motor and undercarriage

I like the coupe a bit better, but we'll see...

Editted the first post, to include pics of the car.
Here are some pics of the damage, wich I've shot with my phone the morning after the accident (I had to work a 12hr night shift on a 1989 D250 limo as well... all f*@!ed up)

Smaller?
It's an EG, those come with half-size radiators :)
BTW, it's holding up great, really good cooling capacity.

Damage is estimated € 1.200,- ex. 'VAT' (called BTW, wich is 19% in this case), so that would be € 1.428,-
I thínk that my coupé will be nice, clean and shiny again, somewhere this winter :)
Now wait and see what the other guys insurance expert says about it.

Doesn't sound to bad to me. Will they repair it for you or offer cash instead?

Do you think they might class it as a total loss? Over here anything over 50% of the value of the car is usually written off. :(

It'll be cash, so I have the choice what to do with the money.
Cars don't get written of so easily over here, if it would, I would move to another country (and I probably will anyway, somewhere in the future).
We have a saying over here; "if I get f*cked, I wanna kiss too."
