Hey everyone just rebuilt my engine n started it up yesterday n it started first time but has a tappin/knockin noise comin from the top part of the engine, all horrible thoughts went through my head piston slap, bent valve etc but I noticed when I put more oil in it stopped for 30secs then...

i love these cars, was lookin for one before i had the gt, just couldnt find one at the time, there was afew about but they'd all been killed or have the engine bodged up n not set up right hence killin itself........ poor things lol

mines lowered by around 70mm front n back (coilovers) still handles notthat good lol by it does improve it alil tho, aswell as sum good tyres

My friend had a mk2 sporting, he had an airfilter, striaght through exhaust n I think a 421 n it kept up with my gt up until 3gear where I was only just pullin away, maybe the mk2 shell is lighter or becus my car wasn't set up but it was still quick!!! Just get them n ur laughin

Welcome, wouldn't puttin a lower spec gearbox (1liter) affect the top end speed, I would of thought the 1.4 gearbox would have a longer final drive, could be wrong tho
