Which turbo?

i would like to uprate the turbo on my 944 (91) model. done many upgrades so car should be good to run upt 400 hp (wouldn't want anymore than this as don't want massive turbo lag) any suggestion?

Blimey - that's a question and a half.

What about a hybrid unit with cutback vanes? These can theoretically spin faster and having less rotational inertia will also spin up faster.

You'll probably need to change the wastegate operating parameters to make optimal use of this. You'll also need to alter the fuel/boost compensation so that you inject more fuel under full boost to prevent overheating and pre-ignition.

As to how you go about this I really am not qualified to advise.

Do you know what your current power levels are? Have you been on a rolling road.

I recommend ball bearing turbos. Do you know what turbo is fitted as standard? The Garrett T25 is quite popular but TBH I'm not sure what Porsche used and in which years.
