Hello, and good day to all ! I am new here and will like to wish everyone a blessed day.
Now down to business.....
I own a VW Polo Classic 1.6 8v 75hp 2001 , a pretty nice family car.
one morning I woke up , started the engine, and put the gear on DRIVE.
The car took about 15 secs. for the drive gear to go in. Ok...so I had it checked out. apparently my Transmission oil needed changing ant topping up.
After that the car worked fine ......for a while.
After 2 months I got the same problem again.....also there are no leaks.
Everytime I Pull off , it takes about 15-20 secs for the Drive to go in.
My Mechanic said that the Transmission is reaching its end.
One morning after about 2.5 months, I got up and started the engine.
Backked in the reverse , and the car proceeded to go forward. ....ok weird.
Put it in park, the car still went forward. ....ok....more weird... tried it in all the gears, and you know what happened next....it drove forward.
So far, no one knows what happened.
I decided to replace or change the Transmission. however, I cannot source a proper transmission. I am getting another, but the engine it came out from is using a manual Distributer and My engine uses a Coil Pack.
My question is ... can I use the Transmission mentioned or is there another transmission that will fit with my engine....Eg....a bora?
