Hi
Im a Norwegian guy who has had a few cars for the last three years. and now i've bought a tuanable car, av Audi A3 1.8T Quattro.

My last cars has been:
-1986 BMW 316 with a 1.8l engine
-2001 Toyota Yaris 1.0
-1996 Subaru impreza 2.0 Sport (still owns this one but im selling it)

Hello there and may I wish you a very warm welcome to TorqueCars forums.
It is nice to meet you. I hope you enjoy the forums as much as we all do and that you get totally addicted to this site.

Tell us what are your plans for your A3 - you have great taste in cars?

Thats quite a collection of cars you have had there. Nice to meet a fellow petrol head.

Thank you! :)
My plans for the Audi is at first to change the air filter. Its allready been chiptuned to around 200hp and 270nM. windows are tinted and the stock resirculationvalve is traded for the biggest Forge valve.

Plans:
When the winter kicks inn I will buy me some new summer-wheels... Im thinkin of a BBS LM replica, black 18" vith a red lip.
I will also install a turbo gauge.
After a while I will change the stock exhaust system for a more sporty one, I will also get the car lower to the ground.

hey and welcome to the site mate.

if it actually at 220 then there isnt alot really left for you to do apart from looking at hybrid or bigger turbos. the only things left should be the downpipe and possibly the injectors depending on the engine code

what engine code does it have?

I'v got the AQA engine...

took some pics with my old and new car next to each other a few weeks ago, posting the two best pics here now ;P

for that sort or power your looking at changing at least to the k04 turbo from the more powerful TTs.
not sure on your engine but you may get away with swapping the injectors from AMK or BAM engine - only works if you have a small port head on your engine.
intake plumbing needs adapted
turbo, exhaust manifold and downpipe need modified
front mount intercooler is better as the more powerful engines ran 2 side mounts

for the work id say spend a little more and go for a gt25 or 28 and just get the boost and fueling set so your happy with the power output. the k04 arent the greatest and for the work involved you will have a more reliable turbo with the option to get a bit more out of it if you wish at a later date.

other option is to hybrdise the k03s turbo (not sure if yours is the 03 or 03s) this is a direct bolt on and with other mods allows around a max or 240

as your is a quattro the performance haldex controller is supposed to be a very good idea

when you say gt25 og 28... you mean garret?
how do i hybidise my turbo? where can i buy the haldex controller and what does it do? Sorry for asking so many questions but im new to Audi and turbocars :p

yup garrett most folk with the 1.8 go for the 28 or 30

a decent turbo specialist should be able to hybridise your turbo. basically pull it to bits bore it out a little and fit larger internals. you dont get the performance of the real turbo due to restriction of the casing but better than a standard one. also means you can have a ball bearing rather than journal bearing.

give awesome gti a shout they may deliever to norway and i can recommend them for VAG products

link to hte haldex aint cheap thou http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=3850&xSec=147

they wont fit on the front without going low or even negative on the ET by using spacers

even then, not sure on the norway laws but in the uk, you would have to run insane stretch to stay road legal

these are the rims I am considering too buy... We mounted a set of 18x10on my mates golf mk v to see how big they were :p its a 225/40-18 tire on that wouldnt fit :p

they wouldnt fit on yours without adaptors then is they fitted the mk5

225 would fit but on a stretch. tyrestrech.com has a pic but the site is currently down

cached file still works

225/40/18 on a 18x10

I am buying my own set,my friend has a set for his skyline witch we tried to fit on his Golf just for fun :p
I will stretch but not too drastic prehaps 235 or 245...

Been a while since I've updatet now... Bought new wheels; InterAction BBS LM replicas with Faederal 595RS-R... It took a few weeks from the day I ordered them till they arrived due to the idiots at the Norwegian customs, they took their easter break early, but now I have them installed on my car ;) They meassure 18"x8,5" and the tyres are 225/40-18. I got it all for around £800 witch in Norway is cheap as hell :)
Since the rims arrived a few days before the tyres i drove around on a set of Minerva F105 because I could not wait to take some pics :p

Here is one i took with my HTC:
