HI everyone,
I have signed up here as I have recently become the owner of a 2000 new beetle with only 70K miles on the clock. I have looked at a few websites but the 2.0 ltr engine seems to be lacking from most sites offering tuning/styling/improvement advice - any opinons??
Its a nice solid car with a few tiny scratches and I just want to know what my options are.

hey and welcom to the site mate.

to be honest theres not much avalible for the 2.0 vag unit as it was underpowered at 115bhp most people would swap it out for the 1.8t units which give 150 even in the basic form.

have a look at awesome gti as theyve started getting parts in for the 2.0
intake, cam and adjuster gear, exhaust should be that hard to get, if your stuggleing go down the custom route.
custom code do remaps for the 2.0 liitre as well.
hopefully with all this you sould be looking at around 140ish.
but leave the remap to last.

the other option is to go down the throttle bodies route this could give you arounnd 170-200 bhp but economy will be none existant and reliability may be poorer due to the stress on the engine
