Newbie here who needs help

Hi Ya,
Is there anyone who can give me some tips/help?
I have just bought a 1991 Proton 1.5 12valve for my mom to use.

It has only done 54,000 miles and was a one owner car with a very good service history.It seems that the auto choke on the carburetor is staying on too long and only goes off after driving for 8-10 miles which makes it jerky.It does have the Mitsubishi engine,and is in excellent condition all round but this one fault spoils it.

I would be thankfull if anyone has had the same issue and how they solved it would be great.

Hi there mate and welcome to Tc. Have you tried cleaning the carb with some carb and choke cleaner. It's worth a go I think.

Hi there and welcome. Could be a temp sensor that is playing up or sticking. Auto chokes can also be sticky so clean out the whole choke assembly with some wd40.
