Negotiating tactics

Just bought an e36, seller was asking 700 quid, I did an online valuation & that came up at 850, so I photo-shopped it, printed it off & took it with me. Got the car for 500 a monkey!!

What sinister negotiating tactics have you used?

I walked out of the showroom 3 times, with the salesman running after me until I got the deal I wanted.

I have heard of people using autotrader searches to show cars are worth much less than the asking price, but if you read the ads in detail you'd see they are non runners/accident repairs or need attention, but this didn't show in the summary page.

you really dont need to cheat .Cash is King unless its a seriously sought after car.

Im sure counting out £500 in notes in front of him would have worked just as well
