Do you have any trust issues when it comes to using main dealers?

Are they just there to make money out of work or is it in their interests to provide a great value reliable service?

Do you get a second opinion on any jobs they recommend?

Cannot say that I have any trust issues with my main dealer. I have been using them for 11 years now and they all know me by name. Yes they are expensive although I now get a 25% labour cost reduction and an 18% parts cost reduction. Yes they mistakes from time to time, but it is how that company deal with their mistakes that makes me happy to use them again and again!

No, Mitsubishi are great! I went there to price up a 52k service (the cam belt change) and they said as it is over 3 years old, I would get it cheeper from a private garage!

They advised me on the costs, broke it down for me, and said If I wanted to provide the parts, then it would cost X amount for labour and service.

Fantastic!!!

wanted over £100 more than the specialist for waterpump change
apparently you cant fit cruise control to petrols
and they couldnt stock a coilpack for my engine, i would have to go to audi as its one of their engines.

so ive not much trust in them

Saab have always been good. You pay for that level of sevice when you buy a Saab. My Mum (up untill the last year or so) has always had a Saab and the relationship she had with her garage was great. They would always talk her through the work and explain things.
