Looking for help

got a 1997 audi a6 1.8T its getting very hot and is running like a bag of #!#!#!#! no power at all even high up the revs :sad2:if any one could help it would be much appreciated:bigsmile:

is there any smoke coming from the exhaust? or any other symptoms?

no smoke it did have a dump valve fitted but i took that off and went back to the original cant see any other problems think it might be new engine time

how quickly does it get hot? and how hot are we talking?
the broblem could be one or two of a handfull, such has the headgasket or the water pump, etc...
have you got water in the tank?
if so what colour?
either way what ever the problem may be it would appear to me to be something you should get a garage involved with as with out being there to actualy look at the car i cant think of any thing obvious and audi's are not my speciality, sorry.

Are you getting boost?

at a guess id go with water pump. very prone to braking due to plastic on metal

head gasket isnt normally a common one. although a sniff test will tell if this is gone
