Leaving a cabriolet parked

Yesterday I saw a New mini cabriolet parked near the shops with its roof still down.

I don't think I would be trusting enough to leave it with its roof down in public.

Am I just a bit paranoid or can someone else see the sense in this?

Newer cars have sensors in them so if you try and get in or try and get something off the seat the alarm will sound. I think as long as there is nothing on show it not too bad.
