Ok then, here are some figures I batted around.

An Evo at 80000 miles expecting to cover 12,000 miles in a year could cost around £10000 in running costs!

Fuel £4237 assuming 18mpg and £1.40 per litre fuel costs
Servicing £1191 (= the 3 in one year as they are required every 5000 miles)
£2000 insurance
£1540 = set of brakes (should last nearly 2 years)
£1016 New clutch, expect to change around 20,000miles

Total £10384!

What are your thoughts on these figures? Would you run a car that costs this much each year? How much does it cost you to run your car?

Actually now that I think about it, my car costs a shocking amount of money per year to run :blink:
Does not bother me in the slightest though, now if a woman cost me that much then I might have something to say on the matter :lol:

As we seem to be in picky mode tonight, Waynne, I suggest that you mean £10K a year? ;)

thats a lot of money just on a car im glad the gt4 is not a dailly car as i have a renault kangoo van which does around 40-45 mpg around town.

i think im nearly half way on that with the celica its fair to say ive gone over budget but its easily done

GTS Skyline Anually Insurance = $ 784
Fuell = $ 1200 [ 5500 km per year ] average.
Registration = $ 700 [roughly]
Servicing = $ 120 [ done myself ]
Brake shoes = $ 40 [ should go 3 years per set ] cost p.annum.

Total = $ 2844 [Ozzy dollar] = GBP 1941
Dono about the clutch.

It all depends on whether you enjoy driving the car enough to justify the money spent.
If I didn't spend my money on my car then I would probably waste it on other things....at least with a nice car you have something to show for your money

Done it.

Real costs are more like

Insurance - £500
MOT - £70 (removal of d cat and putting it back on)
Tax - £280
Servicing - £250 4.5k miles, £400 9k later, then £250 4.5k miles and so on
Tyre's - £100 a corner
Spending Pot - £1000 - (Usual things that go (but not all at once, over course of 2/3 years of ownership) bearings, brakes (pads and disks), ball joints, roll bars ect ect
Fuel.....Depends on how you drive. Motorway miles is 30mpg. Honest. Driving round town is about 15. My lowest was 7 on a hard run.

Just put my battery back in mine and had her out running. She might be going on the bay of E soon as my new job means I need to do a lot of miles and need a reliable diesel. :(
