How to make a head unit work without a car?

Hello All!!!!

Been a while since I last been here, but I've run into a small problem that needs your help again....

My Alpine mobile media station broke down, so i took it out to fix it.... but i dont know what tools i need to turn the thing on at home i.e. what leads and power supply is needed to fool the unit into thinking its still in a car??

a 12v battery or battery charger

connect the red and yellow wires to the pos and the black to the negitive and itll switch on

forgot about that, but in fairness most head units have a built in fuse on the perm live anyway

be careful with cheap chargers the output is often quite dirty.
