Hi folks - new member but old hand !!

Spent many !!! years in rallying - when I could afford it ! Been tuning cars like Escorts and Minis since the 70's. Thing is -- things ain't what they used to be and I'm looking for some info on mods to my 2.2 Astra coupe - anyone out there know much about this engine ??

Hey and welcome mate.
sounds like you might be able to help out some with mini needle settings.

2.2 is a vauxall engine both avalible as petrol and turbo diesel. thats about it sorry

Oh -- are you in for some fun with that subject -- If you can -- try to get hold of a book called "Tuning BL's A-Series engine" - by a guy called David Vizard -- worth a read !

You should also get hold of a needle chart from SU carbs -- do a search - the chart costs - these days -- about 4 quid - sorry I don't still have one !!

hi there and welcome, i dont go much for new cars to many sensors ect.

Hi there and welcome. They call it progress I guess! A remap is a pretty good option on these engines. I don't suppose it is the turbo version is it? A set of fast road cams and I beleive the remap offered by dreamscience is one of the best Ford specialists around.
