Hello and a very warm, welcome to
TorqueCars from me the admin!
So sorry for my very slow reply, I've been busy updating the site framework and chasing bugs. Hopefully we are there now, with a much faster more efficient site and server.
Weight reduction makes a significant change to fuel economy, the more you save the better. The engines and cam profiles are setup for reliablity so stripping down the head and optimising it to flow more air, with a 3 angle valve job will improve fuel economy, but unless you do the work yourself or do very high miles it will cost more than you'll save.
Performance fuels may well give you more miles from a tank. Run some injector cleaner through it (like the BG range) if fuel economy is nowhere near where the factory figures state.
Set tyre pressure to fully loaded, and get fuel saving tyres fitted, this will gain you a few more MPG (depending on what you've got now.)
I'm sure you'll fit in just fine and look forward to Talking Cars with you.
