Seems like a nice friendly forum you have here, no bad manners and no abuse so I think I'll stick around.
It's only right I introduce myself properly.
I'm McCrash. When I was growing up I was a bit 'mad' for want of a better word and had an inability to keep the machinery between the greenery. My uncle christened me Crashy McSmashy and it got shortened over time to just McCrash. I have since learned that I'm not Colin McRae but I still enjoy a hoon from time to time.
My dad was a stock car racer and always had fast Fords so cars were in my blood from an early age. I'm not the best driver in the world, it's more the mechanical side of things that interest me.
I think I have the best job in the world, maybe not the best paid but it's certainly interesting. My job entails almost every aspect of the motor trade. Buying and selling cars, breaking and scrapping (including working with scrap ferrous and non-ferrous metals), general mechanicing work, servicing, MOTs, I like to dabble a bit with electrics too. Bodywork I do not touch.
My car history is wide, diverse and far too long to ever list. I couldn't even guess how many I've had through my hands over the years but probably well over the 100 mark. Had my first car when I was 10, a cream Mk2 Cavalier 1.6L. Had some fun in it rallying through the hay fields until the engine turned inside out. My first road legal car was a 1993 Sierra Sapphire fitted with a 2.1 Pinto running a 32/36 Weber and a welded diff. Bought it as a bare shell and built it up from scratch. Had a lot of fun in that car but was young and silly and almost lost my licence in it and had to sell it. Wish I still had it.
There's no one particular type of car that interests me. I love them all from new ones to old ones and battered up old POS's. I've had everything from Ladas to Mercedes. If I won the lottery though, the first car I would buy is a RS200 Evo then build a Mk2 Escort to my own spec.
My only 2 other interests are music and wimmen but that's for other forums.
Anyway, now you have an idea who I am and what I'm about so I'll get on with it but anything you need to know or anything you think I can help you with, just ask!
