Hello to all.
Im new in this and looking for some help om currently rebuilding an escort shell (its crashed:embarrest: but engine inside perfect) and i want to do something different with it both inside and out starting off with the colour and then the engine. so anyone tats got any suggestions feel free to let me know thanks :p
 
what colours it the now ? could look at making it white starting to think some cars look good in that.
whats the plans are you wanting to keep the 1.3 or swap it out? swapping it would be better as theres not alot of gain from it.

if its the right shape what about making a RS turbo rep, bodywork white with the light and dark blue tiger stripes

i'm from cork in ireland it s a 96 3dr model have you any pics for the rs turbo rep could be interested in tat any suggestions wat i could wit the engine would i be better off replacing it or doin it up

simple question do you want a car that goes fast or looks fast ?

not being funny but i find nothin worse than someone that has spent a fortune on making a car look like something that should be fast, but its still powered by something small, sub 1.8.

see if you can find a decent cossie engine for it. or try and find the duratec engines (see my other post about these tho)

your not going to get anything serious out of a 1.3 engine without spending thousands. even then your not going to have much reliability and still going to be down on power compared to something bigger
 
Wel i dont wanna spend a couple of grand on the body work and interior to ave #!#!#!#!ty 1.3 under the bonnet i was thinking about the cossie engine alright is it stil possible to pick one up new do ya no??
 
dont think you can buy them complete however you can still buy the bits

$5999 for the block £4225 , taken at $1.42 :£ 1, this doesnt include the pistons, conrods, crank, bearings, sump, head, valves, springs, cams, injectors, fuel rail, turbo. and you need more.

check out burton power for prices but heres a few

crank £1200
head £2000 for a remanufactured one not brand new. only has valve seats and guides
piston £100 - 140 each

could do but tit will be a premuim, but still cheaper than the trying to built your own.

theres a block on ebay the now for £160 again its the block only
 
Cheers bud that second engine would need a good bit of work alright. i was hopin to find something cheaper so i better start saving before i go buying anything
 
Can you get the old Sierra or Granada Cossie engines into the escort engine bay - if the Granada one fits you can pick up whole cars for very cheap money, engines may need a bit of work though.
 
Loads of cossies being broken on passionford.com but seriously I would NOT think about putting a yb lump in your Escort, will cost you a lot of money a lot of time and a lot of work, you'd have to have EVERYTHING, (whole running gear (diff, drive shafts, etc etc) suspension, wiring loom - ok a whole donor car) what mark Escort is it? Then you'd have to seriously modify the shell itself to accept everything as well as shorterening some parts as the Escort floorpan will be too short, and this is just a brief description - don't get me wrong it has been done but seriously don't go there! lol

Shes a mark 6 escort i no there s a lotta work to be done to it but i dint plan on goin choppin the car dunno wat to do no thou thanks for the advice thou
