Door Protector Strips

Hi all just wondering if the plastic door protector strips are held on by adhesive or clipped on. I have a T reg (1999) Polo and wanted to remove the godawful things.
 
its ok guys done abit of research an found out theyre just sticky on. Pulled em off an cleaned it up. Looks proper sound
