Do you like the smell of petrol and oil

Some people really love the smell of petrol and oil but others can't stand it.

I sort of like the smell, probably because I've associated it with some awesome days out in and around cars but I know that petrol is very harmful to inhale so I try to avoid it now.

What about you? Are there car smells you really like or hate?

One smell we don't get now is the smell of a rich running engine via the exhaust, with catalysts this has become a thing of the past.

Quite like the smell of oil, never really like petrol though. Diesel is one of those lingering smells you just can't get rid of when it gets on your skin.

When I was much younger and my father used to take me to the speedway on Saturday nights I absolutely got hooked on the fumes of Castrol R fuel used by the speedcars and bikes.

As a teenager I used to add some castor oil to the fuel in out 2 stroke lawnmower and it smelled the same
