cat

No noise change at all mate when I had mine done, diesels are actually quieter than there petrol counter parts with no exhaust (or lack of certain exhaust components)
I did loose the back box off my car on the motorway, at mid-high revs it sounded the same, at low revs it sounded gruffer, and I liked it,

removing the cat will improve both fuel economy and performance as you will have more mid range torque like I said in your other thread

I've never dyno'd my car so I can't say for sure if there is any torque gains on paper

But the turbo does spool faster and the midrange pull is better, fuel economy is better as I don't have to rev it as much in gear to get the same speed I want,

Mind you my engine isn't really standard as I have tweaked up the fuel pump and turbo,

The best way to decat these without a performance exhaust is to buy a standard centre exhaust section for a 1994 1.9td as these didn't have cats out of the factory and the pipe will fit straight on, no bodging required
