BMW 216d 2016
Hi Everyone,

Just seen youtube videos and wondered if anyone could help, please?

I have a 2016 BMW 216d with 210,000 miles, mainly motorway driving. I've been the only driver from new and drive 25k-30k miles per year.
The car has been regularly serviced, first as company lease car and since I bought it at end of lease, with 110,000 miles on clock.

The engine light has been intermittently on/ off for over a year and is now mainly on. Fault tests indicated dpf/sensor/ blocked pipe and a BMW health check confirmed these readings, approx four months ago. The suggestion was that, if not the sensor, it could be pipe and, to get to pipe, a bolt may sheer, meaning manifold would have to be replaced, costing £2k+.

A local BMW specialist said he's had other cars with same problem and that they've tried all sorts of things to clear the blocked tube, including acid-type liquid left in overnight, but none have succeeded.

Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

Having spent £3k on the car six months ago, and looking at the cost of newer cars, could it be worth paying the £32k-£3k for dpf/ manifold or will it just be throwing away money?

Any thoughts/ help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Tim
