Hello, I have a 1995 escort 1.8 stick shift. I run it on a asphalt circle track 1/3 mile. Looking for performance upgrades. Supposed to remain stock but I'm wondering where I can cheat a little. I've already used some of the info on the web site as far as exhaust and inductio
 
Why cheat? Surely the objective is knowing that you won honestly. If there's prize money at stake then you're committing an act of fraud.

Or is like a silly game of Monopoly when eveyone's cheating and knows that everyone else is cheating, too? :)

Keeping the engine at optimum output will give you the advantage. Engine injector cleaner and the like and run on super unleaded if it gives a performance boost.

You should be able to tweak the timing a little for sharper acceleration through a remap.
