Lusting after a 3ltr diesel for taxi work, my superb 1.6 estate is now just not cutting the mustard is the 3ltr better than the 2.7? TIA

4 or 5 times its refused to start, usually when hot, no dashboard lights. Breakdown today diagnosed the diesel pump, my lad was there and sent me this... I read some have a in-tank fuel pump, any ideas? it cranks over and will start and run after a whiff of easy start cheers
