wax wont have anything to do with the softness thats the polishing part.
cost wise
meg 16, fk1000p or coli 476 all under £20
looks wise i found that meg NXT 2.0 liqud wax gave a nice glossy finish after around 3 or 4 coats. durability was pretty much non existant 3-4 weeks beore it started to go.
i found 2 coats of fk on the silver gave a good shine but less glossy
heres a picutre without any light shining on it and before its been washed
I know the owner of company called serious performance which imports a lot of polish etc from the US and have asked this very question as the Stagea has a pearlescent finish
His veiw is that sealants are better whenever the top coat is clear.
Wax is generally better for solid colours

I would reccomend their own brand sealant (available from his website) really top stuff
