seatbelt help???

i was taking out my back seats earlier to do some measurements and the middle seatbelt bottom fixing point prevented me from doing this so i unattached it and it reeled in as it should
but when putting the seat back in i tried to pull the belt back out to reattach it at the bottom and the belt is now stuck in the locked position ive tried for the last half hour pulling it slowly and fast to get the belt back out but with no success

is the only way to get the belt back out to persist with it or is there another way like a release button???

can you get the side off the seatbelt reel ? if you can you could hold the rachet open to unroll it out

well a bit of a disaster i took the leather and foam off the seat to gain access to the reel then unclipped the side of the reel and got a face full of coiled up metal not chuffed and i cant figure out how to put it back together or if i have all the parts that flew out

so now this is on the to do list before the next mot

Right I've scrubbed my last comment!

I've got two inertia reels in the garage you can have them, might be able to rig something together.

Securon make replacement reels for most cars.

not your fault mate!!!! (but it was a bit of a shock :amazed: ) and i cant see it being much from the scrappy it is a vw part so im sure i will find it no problem (its probably been used since the mk2 golf :amuse

well had another look and found another nunmber trw33009758 but that dosent seem to match up with all the numbers you listed
guess its a case of taking the old 1 with me to check compatibility at the tat yard cause i dont fel like paying £70 for something i dont use
