overheated..damaged???

I was chatting to someone, it seems her steering pump gave up on her mondeo which in turn drives the water pump, she drove home with no pas however noticed the temperature had risen somewhat, she said there were no weird noises or smells, she drove 3 or 4 miles, The thing is the car is mine if I want it but I don't know if it is damaged or not...any ideas or anyway of telling if it is damaged? Thank you

Depends on how well the engines cooling capabilities are. What year is the mondy? If it was only driven for a few miles I can't imagine there be any massive damage to be fair.
