hi , new to this forum ,got a vauxhall vectra 2.0 dti on 53 plate love the car but has a few problems , main one is fuel consumption. im only pand it misfires when started from cold hope somebody can helputting a tenners worth of diesel in and only getting 53 mpg on a run to the tenner , its also got a broken glowplug

Cold misfire will be the glowplug. When cold the diesel in that cylinder is likely not igniting. Change that, then get the car on a test computer to see if any sensors are failed. Also check the air filter. Dirty filters can absolutely shaft your mpg.
