Heres My New Exhaust BOX!

Went for a twin cos the rover is too classy for a single or big bore :cheesy:

inductionso2.png

Here is my induction kit, the filter i got is bigger than the one for my car, i think this is the one for a 1.8 vvc engine  fits snuggly though, still not got round to the perspex box yet, i have the material just not the time to do it at work :s

mm perspex box might not last long mate with it being that close to the engine. worth a try thou. both looking nice are you changing the mid section at somepoint as well ?

its just a custom built one, and eventually im gonna get a who9le new system and go for quads when i get my body kit

ITS BEEN CHRISTMAS :D:D:D:D!!!! MY ANGEL EYE HEAD LIGHTS HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!! WOOOOOO!

sorry  i will post pictures of them when i have fitted them at work on wedsnday as i didnt have time today and tomorrow im on day release, but on wed there is nobody in but me and there is no work to do, plus i need to take my bloody bumper off to fit the damn things!!! they look so sweet cant beleive im getting this excited over some headlights

Ok heres a quick preview

they look like they are made for the 200 but i have confirmed they fit the 400,
however there looks like there might be a gap between the light and bonnet,
so i have an idea! on of three things to try in this order:
1: use some mesh and leave it to look like a style mod
2: If 1 looks stupid use car body filler over the mesh and paint
3: try and fit a rover 200 bonnet, can anyone confirm if it should fit?

yea but tbh im not really sure how to do that :s how do you cut the bonnet to come over the lights, surely you have to weld an extra piece on :s

You can either weld an extra bit on use fibreglass to build it up. Have a chat with the local bodyshop and see what they can do. I'm pretty sure a 200 bonnet will not fit.

Lights look good though.

not looking good :( they look like they only fit a 200, i can mount them (took some DIYing :S)but when it comes to the wiring my mind has blown :(

right well thats it they are not goin to fit, they are goin to be sent back, what a bloody let down :(

i got some picture one of them sort of fitted, but they look dumb, ill post up later, how they could say they are 200/400 is beyond me, fair enough is there was a bit of a gap at the back, but the mouting brackets where all wrong, i had to make some more at work, then there was two huge gaps!

i think when i get the money back i might get a spoiler, either just a normal rover one or this one!

also buy some standard headlights, get some of those universal angel eyes pop them in and spray it black inside and see how the look, i am however consered that the black may dim the brightness, what you think? maybe a shiney metallic black?

They wern't perhaps the Mk1 200/400's? The spoilers look good I think the first one will look better the second is a bit Supra like.

Don't spray any of your reflectors inside the lamps black you will alter the beam pattern big time.

I'm not a big fan of the aftermarket angel eyes. I wonder if any Civic lights would fit your car - the body is similar is it not? Might be better to just go with a tint and apply some film to the lights.

Did you get any pics of the holes you filled in from the badge removal?

To give you a little inspirations I saw an MR2 owner fit the lights clusters from a Celica. It needed a bit of bodywork cutting and filling but came out really nicely at the end. (The lights are actually quite a different shape but he got them fitted)

I think it will be a hassle to get the lights from the Civic to fit so it is probably not worth it. Did Motobuild have anything suitable in stock?

the thing is if i go to a body shop it will be mega bucks! but to fit these lights on its mainly the brackets that are the problem, i might pop down to the garage i use and see if they can suggest anything, i havent got pics yet, just need to spray on some laquer today so make it shine, then bland it in, but it doesnt look to bad atm, just got a bit of paint on my rear light  also painted the chrome plate surround, and it looks kinda better, but none of this matters as i will be gettin a flush panel soon,

also when i get my bodykit it will not look like a rover at all so im thinking of putting maybe a bio hazzard badge on that i have seen to give a bit of annonymous style :D

ill post all pics up tonight

I saw that MR2, it was orange. It looked amazing!

As for the spoilers, go for option number 1. It looks far better, and the lights, dude that sucks!

ok here we are with the light sort of fitted, but you will agree they look bad :(

masking tape would have been a good idea massive. im thinking they light are for a civic they look the wrong shape.
the civic front and rear lights are different. i had the 5 dr civic that was basically the same as the 400 but it was a pain in the butt to find anything for.

the enignes looking better though

yea well i didnt think of that then  however since i didnt do such a bad job with runs and stuff, i will be spraying my gfs car where the paint has come away, then im thinking of repsraying my entire car after christmas when i get my bodykit!

What colour/colours you think, i think some flip paint would look cool, but im guessing that maybe expensive to buy,

Luckily at work we have spraying equipment, would i have to tell the DVLA i have changed the colour? and obviously the insurance, how will that be affected?

DVLA will need to know the new colour as this is a material fact on the V5 "log book". If you go with flip paint it is the base colour that they need. I just wonder what you put if you go with a mirror finish?

Iron man red/gold?

i would like to have red/gold but realistically trying to get all the lines straight and neat where the colours change will be hard so im gonna go for something a little easier, a blue flip paint would would be cool, might go for that :D

ok just read the article on flip paint look complicated :s i think a nice shiny red would be cool, like electric red, rather than blue

How will my premium be affected will it go up steeply?

sod it ill have ago at red/gold ill just have to take the bonnet and side wings of and paint em seperately, then just get some newspaper and masking tape :D
