Well i'm at the end of my rope with this car now unfortunately. It's still flagging both transmission and glow error codes on my handheld device yet their £5000 machine (apparently) can't find any fault codes. I know it's not just spurious fault coding from my handheld either as the transmission is crap selecting gears. So an official complaint was made to Santander (the finance provider) and they've been in contact with the dealership (The Car People) to try and sort things out with them. They said the next step was to send it to a proper Chrysler garage and have the mechanics there go over it with a fine toothcomb. However, I have decided to ask them to tell the dealership that I would like to reject the vehicle on the grounds of the Sales of Goods Act 1979 which states; the car should be 1) durable, 2) safe, 3) free of minor faults, 4) be fit for purpose. It is none of these unfortunately.
I have come to the conclusion that whatever their response it's going. If they take it back then that's a bonus and I can move on nice and free. If they don't it'll be taken down to wewatnanycar.com and sold and I'll just have to take the hit on the remaining finance. Either way it has to go now, I've no more patience.
