My Chrysler 300C CRD SRT issues

Well i'm at the end of my rope with this car now unfortunately. It's still flagging both transmission and glow error codes on my handheld device yet their £5000 machine (apparently) can't find any fault codes. I know it's not just spurious fault coding from my handheld either as the transmission is crap selecting gears. So an official complaint was made to Santander (the finance provider) and they've been in contact with the dealership (The Car People) to try and sort things out with them. They said the next step was to send it to a proper Chrysler garage and have the mechanics there go over it with a fine toothcomb. However, I have decided to ask them to tell the dealership that I would like to reject the vehicle on the grounds of the Sales of Goods Act 1979 which states; the car should be 1) durable, 2) safe, 3) free of minor faults, 4) be fit for purpose. It is none of these unfortunately.

I have come to the conclusion that whatever their response it's going. If they take it back then that's a bonus and I can move on nice and free. If they don't it'll be taken down to wewatnanycar.com and sold and I'll just have to take the hit on the remaining finance. Either way it has to go now, I've no more patience.

Aye. TBH I've heard a lot of reports of these cars just not being built that well. Which I know is probably not what you want to hear. You're best off aye doing what you're doing, cut your losses and run.

So it turns out Santander are absolutely useless. Despite making it clear what the outcome was to be for me to be happy they ignored me completely. They said that the dealership was willing for it to go to a "transmission specialist" and i wasn't so they "consider the matter closed". How in the great blue &*(& do they consider that as a matter closed? Jesus wept what sort of monkeys are running the show down there? Anyway it seems to be falling to me to make one of two choices, keep it, take it down to the transmission folk (though the problem does seem to have dissipated for now), then use it as a daily and buy a secondary car for myself, something along the lines of a little mark 5 fiesta zetec s to do up a bit and keep as a toy for weekends etc. Or the other choice which is to try and flog the SRT and go buy something else if/when it finally goes. Decisions decisions.

While the 300 appears to be fixed I may as well keep it due to the vast saving on fuel bills. As a small bonus I finally found my power-folding mirror switch (at last), lol. In fairness I've decided it's under almost 3 years worth of warranty yet so while I'm not paying for any repairs etc I may as well keep hold and look to change in a few years after the warranty has run out and then treat myself to something epic again. Let's hope things improve from here as I've started to enjoy driving it again for the time being
