For the love of God, can it be done? I have spent so long looking for an answer. Can you run a CNG engine on British LPG? Or if not is there at least a way of converting it to something that can be used. I understand that CNG is natural gas used in various household applications, while LPG is pretty much propane and butane. Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Richard.

LPG is derived from crude oil fractioning and distillation, as is CNG.

I don't think it's possible to fuel a CNG car with LPG. The fuelling apertures and engagement mechanisms are different in order to avoid the wrong type of fuel being loaded into the tank.

They have very different SVPs which means that the fuel delivery equipment will operate differently to accomodate this.

Okay, well, I want to get a CNG engine into my car due to the size and torque of the engines. How can I ensure I get a constant supply of natural gas to my car, providing that there are all of about 7 CNG filling stations in the UK?
