For those in the northern hemisphere it's time to get the car ready for winter.

What do you consider to be your winter checks so we can add them to our checklist if we've missed it.

Tyres and lights.

I use my AC more in the winter to clear my windows, so I make sure that's working correctly.
And the heater :)

Once the roads start to get gritted/salted I also regularly use a pressure hose under my wheel arches to clear all the crud out.

A couple of years ago my town got blanketed in snow. My bosses wandered around the office to make sure everyone would be able to get home ok and, more importantly to them it seemed, get back in again. I grinned and pointed to my car (photos on my desk) - 4x4 :)

Nearly but not for another week or so. Everything done to the car in readiness, but I will wait before putting the folding snow shovel, wind up radio, blankets, chocolates, biscuits, mineral water etc into my special winter rucksack for the car boot. Been doing this for a few years now and mercifully I have never yet had to call on it.
