I have just bought a mitsubishi gto but would like to know are they all slow from zero up to say 40mph? it sounds great with its 3ltr engine and will shift after its got going but I am disappointed with its slow start it is automatic.Can anyone help me please.

It's an auto, yes, it's slow. It will cruise all day long at 150 m.p.h. [obviously on the autobahn] but getting there won't snap your neck. To be honest the manual N/A isn't that much quicker. Stick a pair of turbo's on it and it becomes a very different motor.
However, it's not as straightforward as just putting tubs on, that's why the T.T. version is, other than looks, a different car.
