to remap or not. '04 Ranger 3.0L w/3cat.s. magnaflow cat-back "twice pipes" & K&N flat a.f. in stock airbox with face cut out to remove air restriction & get colder air up front. went from 154hp to 189hp? on 87 octane fuel. mpg/city went from 18 to 15 driving SMART. runs great, but to regain mpg REMAP ? don't wanna switch to 93 octane fuel.

no, I believe it's rated in RON, that's what pops into my head

87 = reg. unleaded, 90 = mid-grade(if you can find it) & 93 = super unleaded (the ol' hi-test) octane.

I think you will find that
87MON =91 RON
90MON = 95 RON
93 MON=98 RON
