Hello random people!
Been a member for awhile to browse around, but this would be my first post!
Should be getting my rover 25 back soon, long story short it was my first car, got banned, gave it to my brother, got my license back, waiting for him to send documents to change name over so I could insure him on my policy to tax/mot it (hes like 120 miles away) THEN it'll be back!

I bought some things for it during the past couple of months, hopefully they will be on soon And just got to say I will be with Adrian Flux aswell Didnt know what to expect- got 3 convictions, only just got my license back, one of the mods included nos! But yeah, they gave me a good quote so thanks for mentioning them!
Will post more when I actually get the car, against advice im keeping the 1.4 engine, just hoping it wont blow up

Ive got the multi layered steel gaskets ready to go on
I know 2 people who work with cars, they wont shut up about rovers and head gaskets lol

Thanks, and yeah I keep hearing about rovers and their good old head gaskets, but with that sorted, you reckon that would be a decent little engine?

Welcome mate, don't just do the head gasket, replace the lot, ladder rail and bolts. It will save grief later on.

im going to be honest with you i dont know, i never heard of a rover getting a upgrade gasket and being perfect, stamford is an engineer, take his advise, id say he has seen it once or twice in his day

I feel your pain brother I've got a K series engine & thats all I hear too!
I think the head gasket is more of a problem on the larger bore engines. Dave Andrews has written a lot of helpful info on the K series here which you should find useful. Good luck with the car!

I think I might not be replying for awhile with all that info on there
But thanks for the advice, any recommendations on where to get the ladder rail + other parts or if it could just be taken from another car ?
The first addition to the interior i guess should be a fire extinguisher

plenty of info out there, PTP offer the gasket but try a local factor and quote the part number as it maybe alot cheaper.

ive got them already
Soo far ive got:
OMP front and rear upper strut braces
MGTF 1.8 camshafts + inlet manifold
MLS head gasket set
Vernier pulleys
Wet nos kit (using 35hp)
power boost valve
56mm alloy throttle body
Cold air intake

Got a car diagnostic / performance meter / data logger box to go in so I can record the moment it blows up, lol
And going to try out this free flow 'polyxhaust' backbox to see if it melts or not, but before I go put all them on I will see about exhaust system + brakes.
But before all that, just waiting for the damn car!
