Dent and paint repair

I noticed a small dent by the boot handle on my car yesterday as I was cleaning it. Its about the size of a 50 pence piece but very shallow probably only one or two millimetres but enough to distort the paint reflection making it reasonably obvious when the car is clean and shiny.

Is is possible to get this fixed with out damaging the paint work or as the dent is so shallow does this make it difficult to put right?

I've also found various other scratches and scrapes, nightmare as the cars only done just over 20K miles. I think the previous owner tried to polish the ***p out of it as its covered in swirl marks as well!

as for the dent you could try an get a garage to pull it out,

swirals in the paint are quite often caused by people using a dirty sponge or mitt when washing the car. basically the crud is just getting moved round and round.
use a decent polish autoglym or meguiars for example and alot of elbow grease if youve not got the polishing machine.
just remember and wax it afterwards

There are quite a few mobile dent removal specialists that can pull or push out the dent. What wax are you using? I found Megiars NXT Tech wax helps to cover the small swirls in the paint. Be careful with polish that you do not cut through the paint too much.
