Hi i have recently bought a 55 plate honda civic type r. I bought a Spoon high flow air filter which fits in to my standard airbox because i was told the standard airboxes were very good. I am looking for a bit more of a grunt noise coming from the front without the drone at the back and no loss in engine performance. I was thinking of buying just a stainless manifold from someone like Spoon or HKS? Would that give me the noise im after? Also is there any need to go for the bigger companies like Spoon if i am only modifying that part of the exhaust system? Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Only an induction kit would give you the noise you are after but unless you have a cold air feed or vent in the bonnet it is unlikely to improve performance much. A sports back box would also improve the sound without affecting perfromance. HKS exhausts are my faves for sound on the T-Rs but exhausts are always a matter of personal preference.
