And the 328's can be tuned to stupid levels.
330d with nothing more than a remap will deliver better performance than any 328i.
And the 328's can be tuned to stupid levels.
Granted for the money the remapped 330d would be cheaper. But the 328's can be tuned to stupid powers.
I saw one with a supercharger bolted to it. It had double the power and was running standard internals. Fair enough it may be a more expensive route but a properly tuned 328 will kill the diesel.

How about 330d without the turbo? Then that's a level playing field.
Fact is, diesels need a turbo to be competetive with N/A petrols. Plus, it's still a derv :embarrest:
As TN has said, supercharge or turbo a 328i and it becomes an entirely different matter.
out of curiosity what power do they both deliver, and by power I mean torque as its torque that moves a mass not bhp.
Nope, I'm fed up with that old argument now. You cannot buy a natasp 330d any more than you can buy a turbocharged 330i.
The 330i and 330d are similarly priced so in my opinion that's a reasonable comparison.
And turbocharging a 330i costs far more than a remapping a 330d.
For a comparison it has to be engine size and aspiration not price imo.

Agreed. Fiat Multipla's are around £18k new. The new Clio RS 200 is also around £18k new. How do you compare those?
It's all very well being right, but you have to actually be right for it to work
Thats totally fine buddy. You may have to beat my head in though.
can i ask a silly question but when you say 328i which model do you mean as i have a e46 and was told its not a good engine to tune????? even tho i love my 328i to bits
I would take the 330d every time,
Well, in that respect I would have to disagree, I'd like it even more if it were avaliable in a manual. I'm sure BMW could have done it if they could be bothered.
I don't dislike autos, but on that kind of car I would prefer a Manual, if it was a 735d then an auto would be more acceptable.
I just like the involvement that a manual gives you, I suppose you could say it could make things a bit more difficult when driving quickly but I like the challenge, plus I'm only 22 years old (22 yesterday infact) so I'm not ready to trade in my boots for a pair of slippers either....
Well Happy belated Birthday greetings there Jarrus

What about having the 328i with the same duration and lift cams as the diesel then? Surely then it's fair?
And a turbo.
And a turbo.
And a turbo.
