Best country for a drive

Which country would you most like to do a driving trip through and why?

Italy is quite picturesque and there are some good roads about but I quite fancy the South coast of America in an open top car!

I've heard France is awful for driving, but tbh, I've never driven out of the UK. I'll have to go on a grand tour one day.
