Was helping out a friend today with a cambelt change on his Allroad 2.5 TD V6!
What a nightmare. It seems impossible to do or find any info.
Interestingly we discovered the following which should help out.
The thermostat is located on the front of the engine behind the cambelts on the top left! (Why you have to remove a cambelt to change a thermostat is beyond me!)
The Crank lock pin is locate on the side (RHS as you look at it) of the block!
Cambelt lock pins are found to the rear (cabin side) of the engine in the most inacessible place ever.
Most viscous fan couplings are reverse threaded, not on this engine! Don't turn it the wrong way it just won't budge!
If anyone knows the bolt torque settings please let us know.
I really do think Audi try to make it impossible to work on their engines. Has anyone found an engine that is easy to work on?
