Are you an auto hypercondriac?

My brother is a total hypercondriac when it comes to his cars. I sold him an audi in which the steering was pulling (very slightly to one way), & he Insists that the track rod ends, the stearing rack & All the bushes need replacing.

Would you consider yourself to be an 'auto hypercondriac'?

I am without a shadow of doubt, and very proud of the fact too

Yes, totally! If I hear a noise or feel something that's not the norm I start mithering & I won't relax till it's sorted.

I think the word you're looking for is hypochondriac.

In response I can be one of those at times - I like things to work properly.

I did not! :)
If I had to wait for accurate spelling before replying to a post, I would still be in the hundreds

A hypochondriac is someone who imagines problems, I do not imagine them but If I know for sure there is a problem I will get it sorted ASAP.

If I find a nail in my tyre I have to change the wheel. I've probably done 300 miles on the tyre already but now I know there is a problem I have to deal with it.

I cannot sleep till i fix the problem I have noticed in the car.

And JC your brother needs to look into the replacement of the rectifier/ regulator rather than the whole alternator, if the difference is drastic.

That is if your specific model has one of these that are a separate unit by itself.
