I returned to my car on Saturday to find this.... (Click for larger image!)

I can't beleive that someone who did so much damage could just drive off.:amazed: Gutted is the only word I can use to describe how I am feeling right now.

I spend a while beating out the panel as the wheel arch was catching on the wheel and done an "invisible repair". :embarrest: At least it is drivable for now.

(The wifes not convinced so it's off to the bodyshop I go today.) This is not going to be cheap and I don't see why I should lose insurance NCB over it.

Not sure if I should go for a new arch, new audi wing, generic wing or get a second hand wing from the scrappy and respray it. Any suggestions? If you know who did this I'd be very grateful if you could put me in touch.

Judging by the height it must have been a 4x4 or commercial vehicle.

wife had the same done to her rover a couple of years ago a scrapped wing and respray ( from red to allum green or sumthing like that ) and dusting the other panels off to match cost around £120

same thing happened to her. a van reversed into it and drove off. 2 woman witnessed it, then told my mum ( who they didnt know was related ) but backed down when we asked them about it.

What kind of a w****r would do that?! White van maybe? It gets to the state when you worry about parking your car because some t**t is likely to hit it.....if I ever caught someone hitting my car I make sure they wouldn't be able to drive again!

Best quote so far £300 unless I can find one in the scrapyard that is the correct colour? (I know I'm not that lucky!)

Just had an awesome quote for £350 - includes the front wing, rear os wing and rear bumper including a respray and for £50 I can get all the little parking dents removed!

Sounds pretty good to me! I can at last afford to get this sorted and will have a showroom perfect car again.

waynne where you parked was there any cctv about?

this has happened to my sister twice once in their civc type r
a van driver tried to cut across the parking bays and caught the rear end of the car nearly ripped the bumper off and tried to drive away:sad2: but luckily a security guard witnessed it and radioed his mate not to lift the barrier
they traced my sister and it turned out the bloke wasnt insured to drive the van but luckily his mate who lent him the van used his insurance and they got it repaired at a cost of £2,000+

the other time a woman drove into their murano and drove off luckily their neighbor witnessed it and wrote down the reg so when my sister got home the neighbor gave her the reg and she rang the police they came down and it turned out that the woman who had hit them lived 5 doors away and after the indecent she drove to the rear of her home and parked it in the garage

luckily again they had the damaged repaired but at cost of £3,000+ to the idiot who drove off

That is awful but unfortunately it doesn't shock me that there was no notification left.
I dread the day i ever actually catch someone damaging any of my property etc and just try to leg it afterwards, because unfortunately it will be me going to prison.
Good luck with the repairs.

Wyanne thats terrible, hope somebody drops a line on them to the police.
About 10 yrs ago someone backed into the rear quarter of my escort at a supermarket (where i worked) and then legged it, a couple of nice people came in and gave me all the details and then promised to be witnesses in court. It got as far as 10 days before the court case after the perpetrators lawyers tried to bully me into coming to see them through both letters and calls (the action content of the letter was almost a threat) eventually they coughed up otherwise apart from not paying out the driver would be up on charges of leaving the scene of an accident as well.
Hope you get these pricks,

No Hope of catching them no Wezzel I'm afraid it happened a while ago and i've done plenty of digging since. I was parked just off Ellens Road in Deal.

I strongly suspect it was a Mitsubishi Shogun or Trojaro due to the ridged dents left by thier bumper but unfortunately it was right by the scrap yard so there are lots of people coming and going and it is near impossible to pin it on anyone!

I spent a good while examining the scratches on Mitsubishis for purple paint. It would certainly appear that Mitsubishis drivers cause lots of scrapes judging by the amount with other cars paint on their bumpers.

No CCTV unfortunately so I'm putting it down to experience.

Got my car back today. It looks almost perfect now. He even touched up my stone chips on the bonnet and sprayed in the sides of the car as well to remove the small scratches.

Very Very pleased. I'll post up some pics later on when I get my camera out.

waynne, i'm really sorry to hear what happened to you.
maybe you need to check out close to what kinda cars you park your car.
and cool to hear your car is ok now.
hope wasn't expensive.

£350 which was a complete rear bumper respray and reshape damaged wing and touch up the rest of the car. I got quotes for double this and my car would have been out of action for a week, this guy did it for less and in just 1 day. Well Happy :)
