An old car. Still good but rusted..

i got a very old mazda car from my parents (which they got it from their parents). it cant go fast but it takes me to where ever i want to go so far. i wanted to repaint the car but it rusted a bit here and there. just want to know the best way to repaint it. any advice

Which model is it?

Cut out the rust completely or it will come back. I'm pretty sure there is a guide to painting cars on here somewhere probably under styling if I can find it.

i think its the first mazda 818. will cut it out and check for the guide. thanks

It is a big one then. Not sure we get an 818 over here.

It needs a combination of cutting & welding, plus any areas that haven;t rusted through should have a coating of something like POR 15, or rustoleums Extend to convert the rest of the rust.
