I've not been around much and i've been locked in a dark internet free room but I've managed to drop some new articles on the main site (with more to come in the next few weeks).

https://www.torquecars.com/tuning/fwd-rwd-conversion.php
https://www.torquecars.com/toyota/2jz-tuning.php
https://www.torquecars.com/nissan/rb26-tuning.php
https://www.torquecars.com/toyota/1jz-tuning.php
https://www.torquecars.com/nissan/sr20det-tuning.php

As always I appreciate your comments, so use the comments button below the article to drop in any tips or corrections needed.

Many thanks.

I think some of the rb26 info is a bit out of date especially turbos and more importantly little mention of twin schroll manifolds.
Power is easy with an RB - its all about getting the power on early . Current thinking is single BW EFRs on a stroked motor 2.8 or better still 3 litre.
As for ecus most use a link g4 or a syvecs
Also very few people with any upgrades fit an N! oil pump - tomei ,jun . greddy are way better.

Really appreciate your input there Sleeper, many thanks. I've made a few changes to the article now in line with your comments. If you spot anything else please let me know! :D

It was either Modded UK or the Kent performance show.

Can you cover the new D4-s boxer engine sometime? I'm quite liking a GT86 or BRZ at the moment and wondered what the tuning potential is.

Will do buddy! Just been looking at supercharger kits for the D4-S. They are actually getting quite popular and I wonder if the engines will find their way into other cars? It's almost too good a layout and setup to stick in just one model of car (ok 2 if you want to be picky.)

I'll also do one for the 4G63 @TCJBOLDIE so might be picking your brains at some point soon.

Working on a few more of these today chaps. Watch this space!

Just an interesting aside, the engine codes on Nissan Engines have the following meanings
"D" indicates a dual overhead cam as opposed to a single overhead cam
"E" indicates the individual engine ports are electronically fuel-injected
"S" indicates the engine is carbureted
"T" indicates the engine has a factory installed turbocharger
"TT" indicates the engine has factory installed twin turbochargers

One question the RB30DET is a real engine out there, but I can't find any official Nissan references to it?

One question the RB30DET is a real engine out there, but I can't find any official Nissan references to it?
It's a combination of the RB30E bottom end and an RB25 head and turbo, so it's not official but is so common out there as the parts are compatible and work well it's referred to with the RB30DET code.

there was an rb30 produced by Nissan but it was SOHC . The heads are interchangeable so it can be made twin cam and turbo'd relatively easily. This is s cheap way of getting 5-550 hp using the stock internals. Or these can be uprated with forged internals for higher power.
In addition nissan made 3 litre engines for the commodore which is usually the base for rb30s down under .
OS Giken made a 3 litre engine using only block which was bored and decked . these were all forged and are one offs with all OS giken internals usually with an RB26 head . These can take serious power (1000hp+) there is also a stroked one with is just under 3.2 litre.
Of course then there are the stroker kits which take an rb26 to 2.7 or 2.8 . theree are available for the rb30 so 3.2 up to even 3.4 litre.

Probably not for a couple of reasons
Firstly they are not that common and second tuning is pretty much the same as with a 2.6/7/8.
Main difference and why Ive gone RB30 is that the extra 400cc really does makes a difference to the tourque and spool up which for me is far more important than outright power.
This makes for a much more driveable machine - its not much fun having 750bhp if nothing happens untill you are past 5500 rpm .
Mine is pretty much on full boost by 4000rpm
I was getting round to posting the results now the giken motor is in run in and mapped and will try to do this asap.

I have some serious catching up to do when it comes to new articles, sorry, I will add more in the near future!
