Ok now my golf GTi is sitting outside my house all shiny and polished and looking all devil red ive been thinking what i can do with it and listing what i would like too do. Theres loads of questions i want to ask and ideas to throw around so here i go :D
First of this is my list of wants and do's in no real order.

Delock and remove handles both doors and boot and fit some sort of door poppers.

I want to get a front bumper and rear bumper that will make the car look good but not be over sized, i want subtle (spelling) but "hey thats different".

Rally style rims, looking at white really but have found that white is not very common but i love white rims so i will be looking hard. Can you get tires for road cars that are good for tarmac and gravel????

Thinking about eye lids, but thinking about angel eye lights too.

Better suspension, where i live theres crap roads, pot holes lots of gravel, mud and bumps and i dont need super low sus as it really wont help. i want what they would set up on a rally car for tarmac/gravel conditions.

to be continued....i gotta rush out. :(

Ok where was i....

Then theres getting more power for my money. This is ive no idea on really apart from filter upgrade and exhaust but what types and where to look ive no idea. Basically i want to know of people whats the best i can get out of my stock engine, 2.0 8v GTi, i cant and dont want to change the engine i just want to know what i can add to it that will give it more beef. Everything that can be done to my engine i want to know about, i was reading about turbos on non turbo engines, sounded interesting but can it be done on mine?? Also on the exhaust front i want one that will improve my car but not make it sound like im starting a grand prix every time i pull away, i want a quiet exhaust.

So im after suggestions on everything ive just mentioned and anything anyone can think of that ive not mentioned, links to sites on how to do stuff, links to sites on where to get stuff, help and lots more help. im all ears and eyes and im wanting to learn as much as i can.

:D :D :D

I think the nicest VW kits are the stylish but smooth Oettinger or Seidl kits, particularly the first - it's so subtle and smooth that the casual observer would think it had rolled out of the factory wearing it.

Dietrich do some good stuff too. I was going to have an RS2 front bumper from them on my Polo before I stacked it

with regards to the engine think you can swap the 8v head for 16valver
ive seen another thread where someone was asking about a turbo conversion for the 2.0 but again i think that was on a 16v head and he couldnt find it in britain it only done in america as its more common to fit the 1.8t over here which would be cheaper than doing a pretty much custom turbo convesion.
i know you said you dont want to change the engine but the obivious changes are 1.8t and vr6 engine some compaines will even do a r32 change for you

white alloys if you find a nice set but they dont do them in white see if you could get then painted or powder coated

ou could swap the whole engine for a 16v one

to be true full am not entirely sure i think it the all the head work cams pulleys valves etc i would consult a specialist to find out how much work is required

Ok the 8v head for a 16v? are you meaning only part of it can be swapped then? i wish i understood this more i feel pretty thick. :?

On many 1.8 8v and 16v engines the only difference is the head - the part above the top gasket. If this is swapped you will then get the benefits of the extra 8valves and better air flow through the engine.

I have heard and believe that the 8v get better with age and produce more power. I drove an 8v GTi once and it did seem very nippy for a standard motor.

ok i get you, ill have too look into it, im just waiting for royal mail to pull their ass into gear so i get my workshop book for my car sometime soon, bloody slackers lol

you could be waiting for a while i got an email saying a parcel had been sent out to me last monday arrived yestarday and i belive there going on stike again on monday?

Well ive started some work on the car. Got some chip paint pens, took the rear wiper out but now have to seal the hole. Got fibre glass kit to do that, thought it would be easier than trying to get someone to weld it over. Ive also removed the plastic trim from my wheel archs, 1 arch bad, 1 not pretty, 1 bit of rub down and respray and last should be fine. I was going to take my front wheels off but when i tried too jack the car up at its jack up point (using the spare wheel jack as its the only one i got), well the jack point is rusting and started bending in so looks like its f**ked. Anyway heres some pics so you get the idea.
