specific part differences

i was wandering what specific parts (engine and transmission etc. not trim) are different on the 150bhp golf compared to the lesser models 115bhp for examle. i have the gttdi 115bhp but dont see the point in spending 2500quid on engine mods and tuning to get say for example an 80bhp increase to bring me upto 195bhp if i cud put the same mods on a 150bhp and get 220bhp out of it. any ideas.........?

IIRC the head is the main differnce, the cam profile and valves are different. Obviosuly there is a significant difference in mapping but this is easy to address.

Fuelling is probably also quite different on the two cars so get PD injectors from the 150 as well.

in short the differnces between the 115 and 150 are
turbo
intercooler - 150tdi is the only one to have a fmic
all pipework from turbo to inlet manifold
EGR valves different sizes
inlet manifold
injectors
map
cam
valves

there are also differences in the block for cooling
