Need winshield wiper transmission

Hey guys! What's up? I have a mercedes c230 kompressor yr 2000. This is the second windshield wiper transmission that went on me. Need a new one. Any tips on proper care or if you have an extra one let me know. I'm new to this so i'll accept advice on mods. as well. Thanx

Hi there trifelife3 and welcome to TorqueCars. I hope you enjoy your time on here. Improper lubrication can be a major cause of failure of these. If this is the second that has gone on you then there may be a fault elsewhere that is straining the mechanism. Do the wipers hit the edges of the screen/bodywork at all as they sweep?

What sort of mods are you interested in - power, handling? How important is reliability/fuel economy to you?

They don't hit the body at all. The first one would not move but I heard the motor straining. The second one moves up to the middle of the windshield and sticks there. I'm intertested in getting more power without wear and tear on my engine maybe a cooling system. I get great mileage on her already but with these prices who knows.

I know what you mean about gas prices at least it has come down a bit.

The breakers yards are your best bet for a wiper transmission assembly other than the main dealer and will be a fair bit cheaper. Try and find a MB specialist breakers if you can.

The speed is limited and the engine is built for cruising so the power band is fairly flat. An induction kit with cold air feed will help increase power. Don't dismiss engine cleaning though a good decoke - try redex or power boost spray and this should get the engine up to peak efficiency.
