hi there i have some plans for the engine etc.(MK1 03 mgzr 160vvc) but not spending a s**t load of money on it. my ideas are....full exhaust system(4-2-1-manifold. sports cat. cat back) Janspeed...already have a cat back

I don't expect the remap will actually give much power - have you found a remap. My rover had the MEMS unit and the only option to me was a piggy back ECU which is far from ideal.

An FSE fuel boost valve will be a good cost effective mod and makes the acceleration snappier.

may sound silly mut how do i tell if mine is MEMS ecu and + dont you have to have a turbo to have a boost valve?
 
the boost valve waynnes on about is the fuel pressure valve. it increases the pressure at which the fuels delivered to the injectors. means the fuel is injected quicker, more pressure behind it, so gives a better throttle response

And where would you get MEMS remapped anyway? Only people i know of that can do it are not massivly willing to give out info on it, and there are no companies offering the service.

If it could be cracked fully then there is no reason you couldnt get more than 8bhp
 
There is only mems 3 that can be remapped anyway and none of them can be chipped. The only thing you could do is add and superchips icon which would only alter the ignition timing. Other than that it's standalone territory but unless your planning on serious engine work I wouldn't bother with that either. If you have a mems 3 ECU then a remap would tie in with all the mods you listed but don't expect big gains.
 
The only MEMS mapping option I had on my 220 was by using a Race Icon computer which is a piggy back device. Since Rover dissapeared I think it is now pretty much impossible to get a remapped MEMS unless there is a specialist out there that has started doing it.
 
I would strongly recommend you contact Matt Reidy of www.reidyremaps.co.uk as he can remap both mems and siemens ecu's. He can interrogate these systems and alter the mapping on the fly. I was the first to get my KV6 remapped and that was with modifications, took it up another 10bhp to 200.
