Cost to replace headgasket, 4 cyl Ford petrol

I am considering getting my beloved Mondeo 52 plate Mondeo repaired, The Head gasket has blown, I believe between the waterway and the combustion chamber, I have no oil in the water or visa versa, The engine is a 1.8 4 cyl petrol, How much do you think it would cost to repair using a mechanic who works from home rather than a major concern. Thank you

Shouldn't be too much I wouldn't have thought.
You getting the head skimmed as well whilst it's off?

well i was told by a friend to get the head skimmed and the cambelt changet etc, I just cvan't fault the mondeo, and it it the bottom of the range with the smallest engine...brilliant,,,, and i have had some very so called tasty cars in the past

They do say to skim the heads, but I would definitely cahnge the cambelt and water pump whilst I was at it.

Yeah you want to change the belt and pump as well.
