    Rear Wiper Problem

Not strictly a styling problem, but it's an annoying problem I've got nontheless. My rear wiper on my Focus is wiping in a clean arc, it seems to lose contact around the top of the arc, so it looks like a semi circle with the top cut off about halfway down. Now, I changed the wiper for a new...

    K&N 57i Flexi Hose

I think I'll take it out and try again. I might lose a bit of BHP if I get shot of it for the time being, but I'll be happier with it. Then when the weather picks up again, i'll see if it can't be tidied up a bit.

    K&N 57i Flexi Hose

The fact the hose doesn't quite sit right worries me, I don't know if the shonky job is passable in an MOT. Also, on my model there are no foglights outside of the headlamps. The bottom grill is covered by the radiator and the ends have a plastic shield behind them, so no access at all.

    K&N 57i Flexi Hose

I just installed my K&N 57i this morning, and I've come across a bit of a problem with the Flexi Hose. Two things, it just doesn't seem long enough, I streteched it as far as it would go, and it doesn't seem to reach underneath the filter to the front of the car. Also, the instructions say to...

I hope it is as easy as you say :P I shall post after I have bled the system and let you know if it fixes it or not.

Help: Gearbox problem after clutch change

I'm almost 100% convinced there is some air in the system now. I sat in the car with the engine running and pumped the clutch for a bit. After a few presses, the gears came back. I'll have to read my Haynes manual when I get back home.

Help: Gearbox problem after clutch change

I honestly think I will never take it back to this garage ever again. I'd be very disappointed if the Master Cylinder had broken, because they changed that aswell. I've had a look around the internet since I posted this, I suspect I may have to bleed the clutch hydraulic system as it appears...

Help: Gearbox problem after clutch change

I've recently had my clutch changed on my '99 Focus 1.6, but since then, when starting my car from cold, I can't put the car in gear. If the engine is off, I can select any gear as normal, but once the engine is started, it feels like something is blocking it from going in. Once the engine has...

Spark plugs for 99 1.6 Focus

Hello again, I want to change the spark plugs and HT leads on my Focus but I'm a bit unsure about it having not done it before. Do I need a specific plug for my car? Same question about the HT leads aswell. Will I need a tool to get them out, or are they easily accessable by hand? Thank you...

    Air Filter choice

Ha Haa! I'm not THAT tight on money. Looking at the prices for Induction Filters they don't seem to be that expensive, so I think i've set my heart on that route now. A further two questions: 1)Looking at the instructions, it shows you have to place an air intake pipe on the lower grill, I...

    Why Hello Thar

My boot is empty most of the time, usually just the bags I take to work and training and a small bottle of oil. I'm not that heavy on either pedal either, but my ever worsening clutch and heavy traffic will take its toll I guess. I doubt i'm going to go for an engine swap  I don't...

    Air Filter choice

You know, I've just had a browse through youtube to try and get the sound of an induction roar, and i'm sold. I guess I'm just a little aprehensive at tinkering under the bonnet when I havn't really done it before. Everyone has to start somewhere I guess.

    Air Filter choice

An induction roar would be tempting, but I also have to balance the difficulty of the installation with my lack of knowledge and dependence on the car for work in case I screw up. At the moment I think i'm leaning towards the panel, in these crunchy credit times I think it would be a safer...

    Why Hello Thar

You know, I've not thought too much about what to do afterwards. I usually start tinkering away, then I notice something else I can do and before you know it I've changed half the engine. I was hoping to pick up a few ideas from browsing the forum. As for my MPG, I was regularly hitting...

    Why Hello Thar

I have updated my profile with a bit of blurb. At the moment, I need an oil change and a fix to the clutch slip that I have, after that i'm going to give it a full service to get the most out of what I've got. After that, the exhaust looks knackered, so I may go for something above stock with...

    Air Filter choice

Hi, I just read the article on this very site about fitting an induction kit. I'm interested in fitting one but the article raised an interesting point: Is a 1.6 engine 'small'? Should I go air filter route or induction kit route? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Why Hello Thar

Hi all, I'm a bit late to the driving party, passed my test earlier this year, but am having some fun with my second hand mark 1 Focus. My first car was a mark 1 Megane which died a death when a weld on a water pipe disintergrated and it killed the head gasket. Anyhow, I was drawn here by the...
